Duplicating a Ditty

If you ever want to create an exact clone of a Ditty it can be done in two ways.

Using the Post Duplicator plugin

  • This is the quickest and easiest method once the plugin is installed.
  • Install and activate the Post Duplicator plugin.
  • You can install it directly in your WordPress dashboard by searching for it on the Dashboard > Plugins > Add New Plugin.
  • Or, you can download the the plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-duplicator/ and manually install and activate it on to your site.
  • Once activated, hover over the title of your Ditty you want to duplicate on your Dashboard > Ditty screen.
  • Click the Duplicate Ditty link that appears beneath the title.
  • Once duplicated, you can edit the new Ditty by clicking the duplicated post title, or by clicking the link contained in the notification that appears at the top of the screen: “Successfully Duplicated! You can edit your new Ditty here.

Exporting and Importing a Ditty

Export a Ditty

  • On your site go to Dashboard > Ditty > Import/Export.
  • Click on the Export Ditty tab.
  • Check the Ditty you want to Export
  • Under Connected Posts, select Export connected Layouts and Export connected Displays. This will also export any Layouts or Displays templates that are connected to the Ditty.
  • Click Export Selected Posts.
  • This will generate and download a .json file with the selected data.

Import a Ditty

  • On your site go to Dashboard > Ditty > Import/Export.
  • Click on the Import Posts tab.
  • Click Choose File and select the .json file you just exported.
  • Select Import Posts.
  • Once imported, you can click the Edit link next to the imported posts to edit your Ditty and any Layouts or Displays imported as well.
